You can also open a window or a program by using the Start button. It is on the left side of the Taskbar, which runs along the bottom of the screen.

1. Click the Start button. You will see the Windows pop-up menu.

2. Roll your mouse upward on your desk so the cursor arrow is pointing to Programs. Moving your mouse like this is known as dragging your mouse. Stop there and a second pop-up menu will appear.

3. Drag your mouse up the second menu to Accessories. You will then see a third pop-up menu appear.

4. Drag your mouse down the third menu to WordPad.

5. Click on WordPad. The program will be launched.
